The diving conditions were excellent for last weekends Deep and Nitrox Course. Our first dive was on Llechog Prahan, a submerged reef starting at 12mts and dropping to 30mts with huge pollack, dogfish, colourful sponges and dead man’s fingers and some very impressive rose corals too.
The Julia T was chosen for the second dive and visibility was in excess of 15mts at the bottom allowing a spectacular view of the entire wreck. Sunday morning’s deep dive took us to the depths of Killary harbour where a Jon Dory and a huge conger were sighted.
The final dive was on Bird rock with excellent visibility, huge boulders and overhangs. All colours of Jewel anemone, sponges, dead man’s fingers and dahlia anemone were vibrant in the afternoon sunshine. One cheeky male Cuckoo Wrasse decided to take a shine to my camera and started pecking at the strobe arms!!
Congratulations to Joe, Richard and Barry, all of whom had four great dives over the weekend and went home with two new specialties under their belts!!
